Have you ever thought about throwing berries in your washing load before? We’ve got some pretty good reasons why you should.

10 Reasons You’ll Love Soap Berries

1. They’re completely natural.

Although many people call them soap nuts, they’re actually the dried shell of a berry! As for all the other ingredients…? There are none. Pretty neat, huh?

2. They work just as well as normal laundry detergent.

They’ll leave your clothes fresh and clean – just as any laundry detergent would.

3. They’re cheaper than most laundry detergents.

We’ve done the math and it turns out our soapberries are almost half the price of traditional laundry powder or detergent at approx. 11 cents per wash! (Most detergents cost around 20c+ per wash).

4. They’re perfect for allergies and sensitive skin.

Soapberries are hypoallergenic and very gentle – perfect for children, babies and sensitive skin.

5. They’re 100% vegan and cruelty free.

There’s no animals involved in testing or producing these babies!

6. They’re Certified Organic.

That means they’re 100% free of pesticides, fertilisers and chemical treatments.

7. They have no harmful after-effects on the environment.

Since they’re just berries, they can be composted or simply buried in your garden soil to degrade naturally. They’re also greywater safe since they’re totally chemical free.

8. They’re zero-waste.

The entire lifecycle of a soapberry is very environmentally conscious – from cradle to grave, they’re an entirely waste-free option and won’t leave anything for landfill.

9. They’re odourless.

They’ll remove the odour from your laundry, but they won’t add the sweet chemical smells that make some people’s skin crawl. If you do want scented laundry, however, you can simply add a few drops of your favourite essential oil.

10. They’re easy to use.

Simply place 5 berries (and a couple of essential oil drops, if you like) in a small cotton bag or delicates bag, throw them in the wash with all your laundry and reuse 5 times before replacing the berries.
