INGREDIENTS
- 200 G Firm Tofu Pressed and cut into planks
- 1 – 2 Tbsp Organic Tamari Sauce*
- 1 Tbsp Sumac Powder
- 1 1/2 Tbsp Minced Ginger
- 1/2 – 1 Tbsp Chipotle Chilli Powder
- 1 Tbsp Organic Rice Malt Syrup*
METHOD
-
1. Whisk all the marinade ingredients together. Adjust to taste, add more sweetness if it isn't sweet enough or add more spice if it needs.
-
2. Place the tofu in a shallow dish and pour over the marinade. Cover, refrigerate, and leave to marinate for at least 1 hour, turning the tofu over half way through to coat both sides.
-
3. Heat a small frypan on a medium heat, and drizzle with extra virgin olive oil. Place the tofu planks into the pan, drizzle with some marinade, and allow to cook until golden on one side.
-
4. Flip the tofu, drizzle with a little extra marinade, and cook until the second side is golden. Remove from the pan.
-
5. Best served atop rice, steamed greens of your choice like broccoli, bok choy and beans. Season with crushed cashews and a final drizzle of marinade for some extra flavour.
