These nut-free beauties are full of natural, nourishing ingredients – and they’ll only take 25 minutes to create.

INGREDIENTS

  • 8 large medjool dates* pitted
  • 1/4 cup rice malt syrup*
  • 2 tbsp tahini*
  • 3 tbsp coconut oil*
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cup rolled oats*
  • 1 cup puffed quinoa*
  • 1/3 cup mixed seeds of choice* (we’ve used a mix of hemp seeds, chopped pepitas, buckwheat, sesame seeds, chia seeds & flaxseed)

METHOD

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 160°C.
  • 2. Blend or process the dates, rice malt syrup, and tahini until smooth. Pour into a large bowl.
  • 3. Add the oats, puffed quinoa, and seeds to the bowl with the date mixture.
  • 4. Fold the dry ingredients into the date mixture – it’s messy, but much easier to combine the mixture with damp hands.
  • 5. Once the mixture is fully combined, transfer into an approximately 20 x 30 cm tin lined with baking paper. Press it out evenly. Using another sheet of baking paper over the top, press down very firmly to ensure the bars stay together.
  • 6. Place in the oven for 13-15 minutes. Let cool completely before slicing.
  • 7. Optional: drizzle with melted vegan chocolate

This recipe is gluten-free, vegan and dairy-free

Ingredients:
- 1 cup raw almonds�
- 1 cup mixed nuts of choice
- ½ cup raisins
- ½ cup currants
- 1 cup Medjool dates
- 2 tablespoons crystallised ginger
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp ginger
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- 1-2 tbsp Spiced Cacao Chai Spice Mix, to coat
- 1-2 tbsp Xylitol
Method
1. In a high-speed blender or food processor, add your nuts and blend until crumbly.
2. Add all other ingredients (except Chai spice mix and xylitol) and blend until a thick batter remains. If the batter is too thick, add some water/liquid of choice and re-blend.
3. Transfer your batter to a large mixing bowl. In a separate small bowl, add your chai mix and xylitol and mix well.
4. Using your hands, form small balls with the batter. Roll each ball in the Chai/Xylitol mixture. Repeat until all the balls are coated. Transfer to a lined plate and refrigerate until firm.
